Internships are great for your resume but sometimes the work experience is not as involved as you hoped. Here at the GREY NY agency, this statement is far from true. Everyday I walk into building 200 on 5th avenue and I get to sit at a desk with a company computer. I have not only been invited in as an intern, but I have been added in as part of the team. I get to be challenged in thinking, designing, and concepting. Its a great feeling to get to work everyday and see the GREY logo on the corner of my laptop screen as I begin to design and fall more in
love with what I hope to
do in my future.

Stop, go, slow down. Watching for cars at a street light in NYC is not your only concern. The streets swarm with strollers, dogs, bikers and people every corner you look. A car has almost hit me 5 times, but I have been tackled by people to cross the street, every morning, making it more times than I can count. And on a side note, a yellow light does not mean slow down;
it means run.

Just because my mind works visually, it doesn’t mean that perfect vision comes along with it. My eyesight is nowhere near 20/20 and New York has made that evident. Cracks in
sidewalks, street signs and presentations have made
my need for my glasses a mandatory accessory. All though they may be a fashion statement
to wear them with some wardrobe choices, the truth
is I can't see without them

Every walk to work can consist of buildings that tower over us as tiny humans. Lucky for me, the
buildings I see are better then the grey concert slabs that we all know swallow the city of New York. My walk in the morning consists of Madison Square Park and the Flat Iron building. 5th avenue, Fashion Avenue and Broadway have
become my morning
walk every weekday.

An unfortunate sight of working in the city is the sad conditions of the people who are stuck on the street.
Coming from a small town, seeing a homeless person was rare to none. But New York City has over 60,000 people out of homes and 40% of them are children. I see girls my age stuck out on the street every morning on my way to my internship, and on the way home, in
the dark, I see them under their blanks in all that they can call a home. I'm grateful for the opportunities I have in becoming successful but I know not everyone has experiences like this.
